Golden Chariots Vol. 2 by San the Instru-Monumentalist

I have a confession to make - I have been holding out on you. I apologise. Its not really fair that I have had this on repeat for the last week and yet I did not share it with you all.

What I love about this project, apart from the obvious great production that no doubt took plenty of time and hard work, but also the fact that San deliberately chose some lesser known verses from 'non-mainstream' artists to compliment his beats.

The result? Pure, high-grade DOPE!

My favourite track is the 'Broken Stairways to Heaven' interlude. That beat is like a healthy snack, bananas and nuts!

Oh, and if I haven't convinced you yet, its also FREE. Well, what are you waiting for..?

Interesting list from MNET Africa - I would like to know how they came up with this because I have several issues with it.

Firstly, I'm a little disappointed there was no Zimbabwean representative (ZUBZ anyone??), especially considering I have never heard of half of the names on this list! And what about MODENINE??

I'm not mad at HHP being up the top, but I think Tumi should be higher than he is, and what about someone like K'naan? Is he no longer considered an African rapper just because he is now based overseas??

I dunno, maybe I am just hating. What do you think, did they get it right? Let us know in the comments who YOU think should have made the top 10.

Here at 25toLyf.com, The African Hip Hop Blog, its no secret that we have been supporters of Str8Buttah for a while. (see here and here)

The team from Nigeria continues to impress with 'Set It Off', a track taken from their compilation mixtape 'The Lost Gemz'. I'd like to know who produced this (I would guess Teckzilla) because I'm loving this beat. Enjoy!
