OkayAfrica!

I was doing my regular rounds on the blogs today, when I was pleasantly surprised to discover that okayplayer have a new site dedicated entirely to African music & culture! Check it out > okayafrica.

This is great news considering there really is a lack of good quality websites/blogs that focus on African music, yet we all know how much amazing talent the motherland has to offer! Okayplayer generally has good writers + content so I'm looking forward to seeing what the new site brings to the table.

Metaphysics, the godfather of Zimbabwean hip hop, is back with an absolute MONSTER of a track!!!

The track is titled 'The Party', but its not what you expect - 'The Education' probably would have been a more appropriate title, since Meta takes you to school on this one!!

Teeto Ceemos – Da Freshness (Mixtape)

A semi-finalist in the 2008 Sprite Emcee Africa Competition (*cough - i think he beat Snaz-D in that round* cough), Teeto Ceemos has always been one of my favourite emcees on the continent. I, for one have been eagerly anticipating more of his work. With the smash hit Oshamo (Ft Tha Suspect) out we all hoped that would be an appetiser of things to come. Well here is "Da Freshness" Mixtape brought to you by Fresh Boy Entertainment.

The G.A.N.G – Shadow Of The Night

These guys have a really polished sound, very impressive. The track is definitely an ANTHEM - sounds like it could be the theme song to a movie or TV series! (I wonder if their manager is reading this?)

Anyway, great song - the singer sounds so much like R.Kelly!
